Bachelor Universitaire de Technologie (BUT) in Chimie

The Bachelor Universitaire de Technologie (BUT) in Chimie is a three-year program that aims to train technicians who can work alongside engineers or researchers at all levels of chemical development. The program is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in chemistry, as well as practical skills in areas such as formulation, synthesis, analysis, production, and control.

Program Description

The program is divided into six semesters, with a total duration of three years. The first year is dedicated to providing students with a solid foundation in chemistry, while the second and third years focus on more specialized topics such as chemical synthesis, analysis, and production. The program also includes a 10-week internship in the first year, as well as a mandatory alternation in the third year.

Admission Criteria

Admission to the program is via Parcoursup in the first year. Admission to the second year is only possible through a special year (see BUT de chimie Lyon 1 in special year). Admission to the third year can be done on a case-by-case basis for students who have already completed a BUT in chemistry.

Public Concerned

The program is open to students who have completed a Bac Technologique, Bac Général, or Bac Professionnel. The program is also open to students who have equivalent qualifications.
