Program Overview

The Diplôme Inter-Universitaire (DIU) in Therapie Comportementale et Cognitive (TCC) is a joint program offered by Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 and Université Savoie Mont Blanc. The program provides training in the practice of TCC, aligned with the criteria of the European Association of Behaviour and Cognitive Therapies (EABCT).


Program Objectives

  • Present the theoretical models of TCC
  • Teach the use of basic techniques in clinical situations
  • Master the most frequently encountered models of care in clinical practice

Program Organization

The program consists of 34 modules organized over three years, with modules lasting two to three days, held on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.


  • First year: 11 modules from October to July, totaling 175 hours
  • Second year: 12 modules from October to July, totaling 175 hours
  • Third year: 11 modules from November to July, totaling 175 hours

Each module combines theoretical days and practical application, with supervision days to monitor the appropriation of therapeutic techniques. Courses alternate between the Université Lyon 1 and Université Savoie Mont Blanc sites.


Evaluation Modalities

  • The first two years: knowledge level is evaluated through a written test (20 points, valid if 10/20 or higher) and the writing of a memoir on a case study in the first year and three supervised case studies in the second year.
  • The third year: knowledge level is evaluated through an oral test (20 points, valid if 10/20 or higher) and the writing of a memoir on four supervised case studies.

Access Modalities

  1. Pedagogical Approval: In spring 2025, request approval from the pedagogical director by sending a CV and a letter of motivation.
  2. Administrative Registration: Starting August 25, 2025, with a positive response from the pedagogical director, proceed to the university's platform to download, fill, and submit the required documents for registration.
