Program Structure

The program is divided into three phases: Phase Socle, Phase d'Approfondissement, and Phase de Consolidation.

Phase Socle

• Duration: 2 semesters
• Objective: To acquire basic knowledge and skills in anesthesiology and intensive care medicine
• Teaching methods: Lectures, seminars, simulations, and distance learning
• Competencies to be acquired:
  • Generic competencies: risk management, ethics, communication, and sanitary risks
  • Specific competencies: airway management, ventilation, and basic life support
• Stages: 1 stage in anesthesiology and 1 stage in intensive care medicine

Phase d'Approfondissement

• Duration: 6 semesters
• Objective: To deepen knowledge and skills in anesthesiology and intensive care medicine
• Teaching methods: Lectures, seminars, and distance learning
• Competencies to be acquired:
  • Generic competencies: patient assessment, monitoring, and treatment
  • Specific competencies: anesthesia techniques, pain management, and critical care medicine
• Stages: 3 stages in anesthesiology or 2 stages in intensive care medicine and 1 stage in anesthesiology
• Evaluation: Validation of teaching units, evaluation of hospital stages, and portfolio assessment

Phase de Consolidation

• Duration: 1 year
• Objective: To prepare for professional practice
• Teaching methods: Seminars and workshops

  • Specific competencies: anesthesia and intensive care medicine techniques, patient safety, and quality improvement
