The DiplŰme d'…tudes Spťcialisťes de Chirurgie Maxillo-Faciale is a specialized medical program designed to train professionals in the field of maxillo-facial surgery.

Program Structure

The program consists of three phases:

1. Phase Socle (2 semesters)
2. Phase d'Approfondissement (6 semesters)
3. Phase de Consolidation (2 years)

Phase Socle

• Duration: 2 semesters
• Objectives:
  • Acquire basic knowledge in the specialty
  • Develop clinical, technical, and behavioral skills
• Stages:
  • 1 stage in a hospital with a primary agreement in maxillo-facial surgery
  • 1 stage in a hospital with a primary agreement in another surgical specialty, with complementary training in maxillo-facial surgery
• Evaluation:
  • Continuous assessment
  • Auto-evaluation using an online platform
  • Activity in a simulation center

Phase d'Approfondissement

• Duration: 6 semesters
• Objectives:
  • Acquire in-depth knowledge in the specialty
  • Develop advanced clinical, technical, and behavioral skills
• Stages:
  • 3 stages in hospitals with a primary agreement in maxillo-facial surgery
  • 3 elective stages, including 1 in a hospital with a primary agreement in otolaryngology, plastic surgery, or neurosurgery, with complementary training in maxillo-facial surgery
• Evaluation:
  • Continuous assessment
  • Auto-evaluation using an online platform
  • Activity in a simulation center

Phase de Consolidation

• Duration: 2 years
• Objectives:
  • Acquire autonomy in all aspects of the profession
  • Develop expertise in the specialty
• Stages:
  • 2 stages of 1 year each, in hospitals with a primary agreement in maxillo-facial surgery
• Evaluation:
  • Validation of theoretical teaching (e-learning, e-evaluation)
  • Validation of simulation exercises
  • Evaluation by the stage master, using a standardized form
  • Numerical portfolio of interventions performed
