The DiplŰme d'Universitť (DU) in Santť, with a focus on Douleur et souffrance: sensibilisation aux thťrapies complťmentaires, is a university diploma program offered by the Facultť de Mťdecine Lyon Est.

Program Description

The program aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles, scientific basis, and ethical considerations of conventional and complementary therapies for chronic pain and suffering. The objectives of the program include:

• Understanding the scientific, physiopathological, ethical, philosophical, and cultural basis of conventional therapies for chronic pain and suffering
• Learning about ancestral and recent, alternative or integrative care techniques
• Associating complementary and multidisciplinary care pathways with allopathic treatment to promote patient autonomy in the face of chronic disease and suffering
• Mastering simple techniques such as benevolent listening, autohypnosis, self-compassion, emotional modulation, and mindfulness meditation
• Promoting the dissemination of knowledge and research on complementary medicines in the field of chronic pain

Program Structure

The program consists of 5 modules, totaling 105 hours of theoretical teaching, and 15 hours of practical teaching. The program is delivered over one academic year, with a total of 120 hours.

Evaluation Methods

The evaluation methods include a written exam and a validated internship.

Admission Criteria

Admission to the program is based on a letter of motivation with a CV, and is subject to the favorable opinion of the pedagogical managers of the teaching. A telephone interview may be conducted to clarify the candidate's motivations and expectations.

Target Audience

The program is designed for medical doctors, pharmacists, dentists, interns, and students in medicine, pharmacy, and dentistry.

Tuition Fees

The tuition fees for the program are:

• 1100 for initial training
• 1800 for continuous training, individual or employer-funded
