The DiplŰme d'Universitť (DU) in Santť, with a focus on Prescriptions Culturelles: Arts et Santť, is a unique program that explores the intersection of arts and healthcare. This program aims to develop a thoughtful approach to the interactions between caregivers and patients, and the therapeutic effects of cultural prescriptions.

Program Description

This program is designed to sensitize healthcare professionals to the benefits of cultural prescriptions in improving patient care and well-being. The curriculum covers various aspects of arts and healthcare, including the importance of art in therapy, neuroscientific mechanisms, and psychological effects.

Objectives

The program's objectives are to:

• Develop an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approach to healthcare, incorporating knowledge from biology, neurobiology, epigenetics, psychology, sociology, and anthropology.
• Foster understanding of the importance of cultural prescriptions in healthcare settings.
• Improve patient care and well-being through the application of cultural prescriptions.
• Enhance the therapeutic relationships between healthcare professionals and patients.

Program Structure

The program consists of six modules, each focusing on a specific aspect of arts and healthcare:

• Introduction to cultural prescriptions in healthcare settings.
• Definition and characteristics of cultural prescriptions.
• Applications of cultural prescriptions in hospital settings.

Module 2: Arts et Neurosciences

• The functioning of the brain and its relation to art.
• The effects of art on the brain and behavior.
• Neuroscientific mechanisms underlying the therapeutic effects of art.

Module 3: La Thťrapie par les Arts, Partie A

• Introduction to art therapy.
• The role of UNESCO in promoting arts and healthcare.
• Examples of art therapy practices.

Module 4: La Thťrapie par les Arts, Partie B

• Music therapy: its effects on the brain and behavior.
• The importance of music in healthcare settings.
• Applications of music therapy in patient care.

Module 5: Autres Prescriptions Culturelles et Soins

• Other forms of cultural prescriptions, such as poetry and dance.
• Applications of these prescriptions in healthcare settings.
• Examples of successful implementations.

Module 6: Prťsentation des Mťmoires

• Final presentations of student projects.

Admission Criteria

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field (healthcare, social sciences, arts, etc.).
• Letter of motivation and CV.
• Approval from the program director.

Duration and Volume

• The program spans one academic year, with a total of 80 hours of instruction.
• The program is divided into theoretical and practical components.

Evaluation

• Attendance is mandatory, with a maximum of one absence per module.
• Evaluation is based on a final project (memoir) and participation in class discussions.
