Program Overview
The Diplôme Inter-Universitaire (DIU) in Endocrinologie Pediatrique Niveau 2 is a university diploma program offered by the University of Lyon 1 in association with other universities, including Sorbonne Université, Université de Rouen Normandie, Aix-Marseille Université, and Université de Montpellier.
Objectives
The program aims to provide formation at a level 2 for the practice of pediatric endocrinology in university hospitals, particularly within the Centers of Reference for Rare Diseases. The program focuses on the detection and management of pathologies, especially rare diseases, in pediatric endocrinology, as part of expert activity.

Organization

- 92 hours of lectures
- 4 hours of supervision for the preparation of final study papers
- 6 hours for evaluations (written exams and defense of final study papers)
Session Details
The sessions are organized as follows:
- Session 1: Croissance (2 days), Phosphocalcique et Os (2 days)
- Session 2: Tumeurs avec atteinte endocrinienne (1 day), Thyroide (1 day), Obesites de causes rares (1.5 days), and discussion of final study papers (0.5 day)
- Session 3: Puberte / gonades (2 days), Surrenales / VDG / transidentite (1 day), and two transversal modules (Centres de references, explorations en genetique) (1 day)
Evaluation Modalities
The evaluation consists of:
- A written exam (2 hours, note out of 20, coefficient 1)
- A final study paper supervised by a member of the pedagogical committee, with an oral defense (note out of 20, coefficient 1)
- Conditions for admission: attendance (obligatory presence with signature of an attendance sheet) and overall average >= 10/20
- Evaluation tools: QCM, QROC, clinical cases (QCM or QROC)
- A catch-up session in case of non-validation of the written exam (written catch-up or oral exam at the discretion of the pedagogical committee)
Specificities and Prerequisites
The program is open to:
- Junior doctors, CCA, or PH
- Individuals with a DIU level 1 or qualifying training with validation of internships of at least one year in a pediatric endocrinology unit, including at least six months supervised by a university teacher of pediatric endocrinology
- Admission conditions: diploma of access (DIU level 1 or qualifying training with justificatory documents of validated internships) + CV + letter of motivation
Capacity and Admission
The program has a capacity of 2 to 4 candidates per year at Lyon. An obligatory agreement from the professor must be provided with the application dossier.
