Program Overview

The Dipl獽e Inter-Universitaire (DIU) in Health is a professional development program designed for nurse anesthetists. The program is offered by the University of Lyon 1 and the University of Saint-Etienne.


Program Description

The program aims to optimize the level of professional competence through the updating of theoretical and practical knowledge, promoting exchanges and reflections between hospitals, and providing an action of continuous professional training. The program consists of 8 modules, spread over 2 years, with a total of 100 hours of theoretical teaching and practical workshops, and 8 hours of simulation.


Objectives

The program objectives are to:

Target Audience

The program is reserved for nurse anesthetists with a minimum of 2 years of professional experience. The number of participants is limited to 40, and the program will only be opened with a minimum of 15 registered students.


Admission Criteria

The admission criteria include:


  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a nurse anesthetist
  • A diploma of state (I.A.D.E.)
  • A letter presenting the professional curriculum vitae and motivations
  • An agreement from the teaching supervisor

Program Structure

The program consists of 8 modules, spread over 2 years, with a total of 100 hours of theoretical teaching and practical workshops, and 8 hours of simulation. A optional internship can be carried out during the program, with a maximum duration of 1 week (35 hours).


Evaluation Methods

The evaluation methods include:


  • A written exam at the end of the 2nd year, accounting for 2/3 of the final grade
  • A presentation of a work showing an improvement and analysis of practices, accounting for 1/3 of the final grade
  • Mandatory attendance at each module, except in cases of force majeure

Tuition Fees

The tuition fees are 900 for individual funding and 900 for employer funding.


Duration

The program duration is 2 years, with 4 semesters.

The session dates are from January 22, 2026, to June 12, 2026.


Certificate

The program leads to a Dipl獽e Inter-Universitaire (DIU) in Health, which is a non-accredited establishment diploma.
