Program Overview


Program Overview

The Diplôme Inter-Universitaire (DIU) in Infection and Transplantation is a university diploma program that aims to provide a comprehensive education in microbiology and infectiology for transplanters of organs and allografters of bone marrow. The program also seeks to update infectiologists and microbiologists on the latest developments in the field of transplantation.


Objectives

The program has the following objectives:


  • To provide a thorough understanding of microbiology and infectiology for transplanters of organs and allografters of bone marrow
  • To update infectiologists and microbiologists on the latest developments in the field of transplantation
  • To create a network of professionals involved in transplantation, including transplanters, infectiologists, microbiologists, specialists in imaging, pharmacologists, and hygienists

Program Structure

The program consists of 100 hours of study spread over one academic year, comprising 92 hours of theoretical teaching and 8 hours of practical work. The program is divided into three modules of three days each and one module of two days.


Evaluation

The program is evaluated through a final examination organized by the Pedagogical Council of the DIU. The examination consists of a written test lasting two hours, graded from 0 to 20. Candidates who score at least 10 out of 20 are declared admitted to the DIU in Infection and Transplantation.


Admission Criteria

The following candidates are eligible to apply for the program:


  • Holders of a French doctorate in medicine or pharmacy
  • Foreigners holding an equivalent diploma
  • Students in DES (Diplôme d'Etat en Santé) or DIS (Diplôme d'Etudes Supérieures)
  • Candidates deemed suitable to follow the program by the Director of Education and authorized by the Pedagogical Council
