The Diplôme Inter-Universitaire (DIU) in Santé is a university program that aims to provide professionals in the health sector with the knowledge and tools necessary to create, develop, and manage ambulatory internal medicine activities.

Program Description

The program is designed to establish a reference framework for ambulatory internal medicine units, organize training sessions, and promote the regrouping and mutualization of resources. The program's objectives include accompanying the formation of teams (medical, paramedical, and administrative) in the development of ambulatory internal medicine, addressing organizational, medico-economic, quality, and safety issues, and optimizing hospital capacities.

Target Audience

The program is intended for all professionals in the health sector who exercise or plan to exercise in an ambulatory medical hospital structure, including doctors, nurses, and health managers.

Admission Criteria

Admission to the program is based on a selection process, which includes:

• Submission of a dossier (CV, letter of motivation, copy of the last diploma, and letter of accompaniment from instances)
• Review by the Pedagogical Committee

Program Structure

The program consists of four modules:

• Module 1: "Ambulatory Medicine: Basics"
• Module 2: "Structures of Ambulatory Medicine Units and Creation Tools"
• Module 3: "Developing and Organizing Ambulatory Medicine in a Healthcare Establishment"
• Module 4: "Quality of Care in Ambulatory Medicine and Hospital-City Relationship"

Evaluation Methods

The program uses the following evaluation methods:

• A 2-hour written exam (graded out of 20)
• A memoir (graded out of 20)
• A final exam presentation (graded out of 20)

Tuition Fees

The tuition fees for the program are:

• 1700 for individual funding
• 1700 for employer funding

Duration

The program lasts for 2 semesters, with a total of 88 hours of training.

Responsible Faculty

The program is managed by the Faculté de Médecine Lyon Est, with Professor Isabelle Durieu as the responsible teacher.

Coordination

The program is coordinated nationally by Professor Anne Bourgariat-Durand (PU-PH in internal medicine, Sorbonne Paris Nord).

• Select patients eligible for this type of care

• Create an ambulatory reception environment within the hospital

• Position the structure in the care pathway of the territory
• Establish clinical pathways for patients in their establishment and ambulatory unit
• Manage the unit through quality and efficiency indicators.
