Program Overview

The Diplôme Inter-Universitaire (DIU) in Pathologie Infectieuse Pediatrique is a university diploma program offered by the Université Claude Bernard - LYON I, in association with the Universites PARIS V and PARIS VII.

Program Description

This program aims to provide students with theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of pediatric infectious pathology. The program is designed for pediatricians, medical interns, and pharmacists who want to acquire expertise in this area.

Program Structure

The program consists of:

• Theoretical teaching: 100 hours
• Directed teaching: 20 hours
• Practical training: 300 hours spread over 6 months

The program includes theoretical lectures, analysis of clinical cases, and interactive sessions on decision-making in antibiotherapy and vaccinology.

Modules

The program is divided into three modules:

• Module 1: October 6-9, 2025, at Hopital NECKER
• Module 2: January 19-22, 2026, in Lyon
• Module 3: March 16-23, 2026, at Robert Debre

Evaluation

The evaluation process includes:

• Attendance control (active participation in the three modules is required)
• A written memo (graded out of 20, with a score below 8 being eliminatory)
• A written exam (2 hours, graded out of 20)

Students who pass both evaluations with a total score of at least 20/40 are declared admitted to the program.

Admission Criteria

To be eligible for the program, candidates must:

• Hold a French diploma in pediatrics
• Be an intern in pediatrics (with at least 3 validated semesters) with the agreement of the Director of Education
• Hold a foreign diploma equivalent to the above
• Be a doctor or pharmacist in the industry or institutional structures
• Be deemed suitable to follow the program by the Director of Education, authorized by the Pedagogical Council

The number of students admitted to the program is limited to 45 (across all universities). The minimum number of students required for the program to open is 15, with a maximum of 45.

Tuition Fees

The tuition fees for the program are:

• 804 for initial training (normal)
• 604 for initial training (specific)
• 1200 for continuing education (individual)
• 1200 for continuing education (employer-funded)
