The Diplôme Inter-Universitaire (DIU) in Psychiatrie Légale is a university diploma program that aims to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to practice in the field of legal psychiatry.

The program is designed for medical professionals, psychologists, social workers, and other individuals who work in the justice system. It covers various aspects of legal psychiatry, including the history of legal psychiatry, legal bases, and the interface between psychiatry and justice.

Admission Requirements

To be admitted to the program, candidates must meet certain requirements:

• Medical doctors, students in the 3rd cycle of medical studies, and foreign doctors with a Doctorate in Medicine
• Psychologists (with at least a Master's degree)
• Nurse graduates (with activities related to teaching)
• Social workers (with activities related to teaching)
• Lawyers, magistrates
• Students in the 3rd cycle of law or psychology studies
• Other health, justice, social, and police professionals (after a preliminary interview with the teaching managers)

The tuition fees for the program are:

• Initial training: 803
• Continuing education (individual): 1100
• Continuing education (employer-funded): 1100

Program Schedule

The program takes place over two semesters, with a minimum of 100 hours of instruction. The sessions are held in different locations:

• Lyon: December 11-13, 2023, and March 20-22, 2024
• Grenoble: January 17-19, 2024
• Saint-Etienne: April 10-12, 2024
• Clermont-Ferrand: May 23-25, 2024
