Program Overview

The Diplôme Inter-Universitaire (DIU) in Pediatric Urology is a postgraduate program offered by the University of Lyon 1, in association with the University of Paris VII, the University of Paris V, and the University of Nantes.

Objectives

The program aims to provide theoretical and practical training for candidates in the field of pediatric urology, enabling them to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to practice in this specialty.

Organization

The program consists of two semesters of theoretical training, totaling 100 hours, and two semesters of practical training in an approved service. Candidates must also complete two internships in services where a Fellow of the European Academy of Pediatric Urology is present and participate in remote meetings.

Admission Criteria

To be eligible for the program, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Be interns in pediatric surgery or urology
• Be assistant chiefs of clinics in these disciplines
• Be qualified surgeons in urology or pediatric surgery
• Have written agreement from the head of the teaching department

Tuition Fees

The tuition fees for the program are as follows:

• Initial training: 1104
• Continuous training (individual): 1500
• Continuous training (employer-funded): 1500

Evaluation

The program evaluation consists of four exams:

• Attendance: mandatory presence
• Written exam: 10/30, lasting one hour
• Oral presentation and discussion of case files and/or clinical examination: 10/30
• Memoir or article accepted in an international journal: 10/30
• Log book validation

Specificities and Prerequisites

Candidates must occupy a position as an intern or fellow in a recognized training service in pediatric urology, with at least one permanent surgeon holding the diploma of Fellow of the European Academy of Pediatric Urology.

• International candidates: those with equivalent diplomas, subject to examination of their application dossier by the program directors
