Description
The Teaching Unit "Database 2" is a course that aims to present advanced aspects of databases to students. The objective is to introduce students to other facets, more complex, on the presentation, design, and interrogation of data.
Program
The program of this unit will cover the following topics:
- Distributed databases (Fragmentation, Decomposition, Replication, Integration, Allocation, distributed DBMS)
- Object databases: Two approaches
- Object DBMS (design of an object database and its querying via SQL3)
- From relational to Object programming via ORM (Object Relational Mapping)
- XML databases (design, query, XPath, XQuery)
