Introduction to Zhengzhou University's Medical Program

Zhengzhou University is a key construction university under the "211 Project" and a key support construction university under the "One Province, One School" national policy. The university has four campuses and over 55,000 full-time undergraduate students, 15,000 graduate students, and 2,300 international students from more than 110 countries.

Medical Education at Zhengzhou University

The university's medical education began in 1928, and clinical medicine is one of the world's first-class construction disciplines. The university has 10 affiliated hospitals with 36 national-level clinical key specialties, 149 provincial-level medical key (cultivation) disciplines, and over 30,000 open beds. The university also has two national drug clinical research bases and has been listed as a national excellent medical education and training university.

English-Taught Medical Preparatory Program

The English-taught medical preparatory program is designed to improve international students' Chinese language skills, academic English, and professional English abilities. The program aims to lay a solid foundation in natural science knowledge and medical preparatory knowledge, helping students to successfully enter the clinical medicine, pharmacy, or stomatology undergraduate program.

Program Objectives

The program is designed for:

1. High school graduates who do not meet the admission standards for medical programs
2. Students who plan to take preparatory courses for medical studies in advance

Program Curriculum

The program consists of four modules:

1. Life Chinese Module: Training in Chinese listening and speaking skills to help international students master basic Chinese communication skills
2. English Learning Module: Academic English and professional English learning to improve students' academic English foundation and professional English abilities
3. Basic Learning Module: Mathematics, physics, chemistry, and medical foundation courses to lay a solid foundation in natural science knowledge
4. Medical Exposure Module: Medical foundation knowledge lectures, medical laboratory visits, and university-affiliated hospital visits to cultivate students' preparatory knowledge for medical college

Program Details

• Program Location: Zhengzhou University main campus
• Program Duration: September 1 to July 20 each year
• Course Schedule: 16-20 hours per week
• Admission Time: September each year
• Assessment: The university will organize a final exam in July, and the results will be an important basis for determining whether students can advance to the corresponding undergraduate program

Admission Requirements

1. Age 18 or above, non-Chinese nationality
2. High school graduation or equivalent
3. Mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology scores not lower than 10-15% of the admission standard for Zhengzhou University's English-taught undergraduate medical program
4. English proficiency equivalent to IELTS 5.5
5. Good family background and economic conditions
6. Physically and mentally healthy, no criminal record

Scholarship

1. Applicants with excellent comprehensive scores can apply for scholarships
2. Students who complete the medical preparatory program with excellent grades can apply for scholarships

Enrollment Plan

The program plans to enroll 120 students each year.
