Overview

The Engenharia MecŌnica (Bacharelado) program at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) is characterized by a strong scientific and technological foundation. The curriculum is designed to form engineers with a conception profile, enabling them to design, manufacture, assemble, maintain, and operationalize mechanical devices.

Each student can choose from five trajectories, which are sets of disciplines that allow for in-depth study in one of the course's areas of concentration:

Differentiation

The course stands out due to its infrastructure, with the Department of Mechanical Engineering having over 30 laboratories in areas such as motors, refrigeration, and heat pumps, control and automation of mechanical systems, welding, bioengineering, and biofuels, among others. Professionals are prepared to design and conceive products, coordinate processes, develop new tools in mechanical engineering, and supervise the operation and maintenance of equipment, among other activities.

Although the essence of mechanical engineering is to design and build machines, the undergraduate course goes beyond this, also addressing the economic viability of projects, sustainability, and entrepreneurship, according to market demands. Duration and Admission

• Diurno: 10 semestres
• Noturno: 12 semestres The selection for vacancies occurs through the Sistema de SeleńŃo Unificada (Sisu), which uses notes from the Exame Nacional do Ensino Mķdio (Enem), and through the selective process of serial evaluation.
