Program Details

The University Federal of Minas Gerais (UFMG) offers various programs and initiatives through its Rede de Museus (Network of Museums).

Programa de Bolsas de Iniciaçăo Científica

The Programa de Bolsas de Iniciaçăo Científica (Scientific Initiation Scholarship Program) is administered by the Pró-Reitoria de Pesquisa (Research Provost's Office) and the Pró-Reitoria de Extensăo (Extension Provost's Office).

• The program aims to stimulate and guide the development of scientific initiation activities in the interface with extension at UFMG.
• Inscriptions for candidate advisors are open from May 23, 2025, to June 5, 2025, at 4 pm.
• The edital (public notice) is available for download.

Cronograma

The program's timeline is as follows:

• Period for submission of applications: From May 23, 2025, to June 5, 2025, at 4 pm.
• Disclosure of the list of approved candidates: From June 13, 2025.
• Period for appeals: Up to 10 working days after the disclosure of the list of approved candidates.
• Disclosure of the final result: From June 23, 2025.
• Period for indication of scholarship holders: From June 24, 2025, to June 30, 2025.
• Period of validity: From July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026.

Rede de Museus

The Rede de Museus is composed of museums, memory centers, reference centers, documentation and research centers, scientific and artistic collections, and conservation units. These spaces are responsible for managing, safeguarding, researching, and communicating the university's scientific and cultural heritage.

Formaçăo em Extensăo Universitária

The university's undergraduate courses must meet a minimum requirement of 10% of their total workload through University Extension Training. This is achieved by articulating curricular academic activities with effective participation in different modalities of extension activities.

Edital 03/2025

The edital 03/2025 aims to stimulate and guide the development of these activities within the Rede de Museus. Through a digital platform, space coordinators will register demands forecast for the next semester or academic year. Then, interested teachers can consult the complete grid of demands and send their linkage proposals.

Cronograma Atual

The current timeline is as follows:

• Coordinators of spaces send demands for the next semester or academic year from November 1, 2025, to November 17, 2025.
• Teachers responsible for AAC send proposals for linkage to University Extension Training from November 18, 2025, to February 3, 2026.
• Coordinators of spaces send acceptance or refusal up to 10 days after receiving each proposal for linkage to University Extension Training.

Seminário de Educaçăo Museal

The 2nd Seminar on Museum Education was held from June 3 to 5, 2025, with the participation of museum coordinators, teachers, researchers, students, technicians, and managers. The event presented 23 papers developed by scholarship holders and collaborators of the UFMG Museum Network.

Inscriçőes para Ouvintes

Inscriptions for listeners were open until June 1, 2025. The program included presentations of papers, thematic tables, and discussions on contemporary issues related to museum education and public communication of science.

4Ş Jornada de Museus Universitários

The 4th Journey of University Museums was held on March 19, 2025, to discuss strategic planning for the Rede de Museus. The event aimed to strengthen the university's museums and cultural spaces.
