Introduction to the Grenoble-Brazil Program

The Grenoble-Brazil program is a special arrangement between the Université de Grenoble and its partner universities in Brazil. This program allows Brazilian students to undertake a year of study in Grenoble.

Program Details

Exchange Program

• The program is intended for students of the Université de Grenoble's partner universities who wish to undertake a year of study in Grenoble.
• Students are selected by their own university in Brazil, which forwards the application to the Université de Grenoble.
• Students need to have completed at least six semesters of study in Brazil.
• Credits obtained during the academic year in Grenoble can be subsequently revalidated by students' home universities.

Diploma Program

• The program is intended for students who wish to obtain a French qualification that is recognized throughout Europe (Masters, Diploma in Engineering, and Doctorate).
• The Masters course lasts for two years.
• Applicants can apply either for the first year or, with advanced standing, for the second year, depending on their profile.
• Students should have a bachelors degree or a masters.
• Priority is given to students from partner universities of the Université de Grenoble.

Funding

• The Université de Grenoble does not provide grants for this program.
• There are various award programs, French, Brazilian, and European, that provide financial help to international students for study abroad.
• Dates and procedures differ from program to program, but the application periods often open quite some time before commencement of the exchange.

Services Provided by the Program

• Wide-ranging assistance with administrative and pedagogical formalities is ensured, both before the student arrives in France and during all of the first academic year.
• All students are given a guarantee of accommodation in a university residence or in the city (although the student still has to pay rent).
• A series of lectures about the university system or French society.
• All students on the Grenoble-Brazil program are offered an introductory visit to the university campus and to the city of Grenoble.
• French courses at reduced prices.
