Program Overview
Programa Global E3
Introduction
The Global E3 program is an exchange program for engineering students enrolled in one of the associated universities. The Universidad Politécnica de Madrid offers its students the opportunity to study part of their degree at one of the associated universities. The program is aimed at students with excellent academic performance, and selected students will be exempt from tuition fees at the destination university.
Eligibility and Application
To be eligible for the program, students must:
- Be enrolled in a degree program at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid
- Have excellent academic performance
- Meet the requirements of the destination university
The application process involves:
- Reviewing the academic offer at the destination university to ensure they offer the required courses
- Contacting the International Office of their school to express interest and obtain information on course validation
- Submitting an online application through the Global E3 website
- Undergoing a selection process by the Vicerrectorado de Estrategia Académica e Internacionalización
- Receiving acceptance from Global E3 and the destination university
- Completing the registration process at the destination university
Important Dates
- The application period for the first semester (Semester A) of the 2026 academic year opens on January 15, 2026, and closes on February 23, 2026.
- The selection of candidates will take place between February 23 and March 2, 2026.
Participating Universities
Some universities will not accept students for the first semester (Semester A) of 2026, including:
- American University in Cairo
- City College of New York
- University of Melbourne
- University of New South Wales
Other universities have earlier deadlines:
- University of Michigan: February 26, 2026
- Tohoku University: February 20, 2026
Summer Schools
Global E3 member institutions offer summer schools that are open to students from other universities. These summer schools are not administered under the Global E3 program, and interested students must contact the destination universities directly.
