Universidad Politécnica de Madrid

The Universidad Politécnica de Madrid is a European Higher Education Institution that participates in the ATHENS network, a group of 15 universities from different countries.

ATHENS Programme

The ATHENS network organizes week-long courses, twice a year, in March and November, where students from all universities in the network participate. The courses consist of 30 hours of classes, laboratory work, technical visits, and practice, distributed over a week.

Course Details

• The subject of the course is chosen by the teacher.
• The degree of difficulty can be general or specialized.
• The language of instruction is preferably English.
• The timetable and prerequisites for participating students are determined by the teacher.
• The teaching of the course can be carried out by one or several teachers.

Important Information

• The UPM organizes a Welcome Session on Saturday morning at 11:15 AM.
• Students are required to have valid health insurance to receive medical assistance.
• The European Health Insurance Card may be sufficient, but students are also advised to have travel insurance.

Arrival and Welcome

• Arrival date for the November session: Saturday, November 15th, at 11:30h at Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería y Diseńo Industrial (ETSIDI).
• Official Welcome Reception will be held at ETSIDI.

• Transportation options:
  • Bus: C1-C2-E1-M1.
  • Metro: Embajadores (L3, L5); Atocha (L1).
  • Cercanías Madrid: Embajadores (C5), Atocha (C1,C2,C3,C4,C5,C6,C7,C8,C10).
