Microbiology and Immunology, Ph.D.
Overview of the course
Our Microbiology and Immunology PhD program is available on a full-time or part-time basis, over 3 or 6 years. This research helps in the fight against infectious diseases by bringing research from the bench to the bedside. Our research is at the forefront of using advanced information about bacteria, fungi and immunity.
Entry Requirements
The University will consider applications from students offering a wide range of qualifications.
- To apply for the PhD program you would need to have, or be studying for a Masters degree, while our MPhil program requires a first or higher degree in discipline associated with the proposed research project, or a relevant, approved postgraduate qualification.
- Ph.D .: Applicants for a PhD usually have to have an undergraduate degree at level 2.1 and a Master's degree. Alternatively, candidates with a first class honors degree in the UK (or the equivalent of not part of the UK as defined by Swansea University) will not have a Masters degree, will be considered individually.
How you are supervised
You will be given a supervisory team that will include chief supervisors and secondary supervisors. The team will provide you with academic and pastoral support while you complete your research.
