Program Overview
Biological Sciences, Ph.D. Learned distance
Overview of the course
This course enables people who do industry research and in other locations to study towards a PhD degree. To be considered for the course, there is a need to provide evidence from access to research facilities to undertake the research program. Registration will require a multiplied agreement between the host institution, the student and Swansea University.
Entry Requirements
The University will consider applications from students offering a wide range of qualifications. We usually require a 2: 1 grade or equivalent in biosciences or related subject, or an appropriate Master's degree with merit. IELTS 6.5 (with at least 6.0 in each component) or equivalent English test.

Our staff are actively involved in biodiversity conservation. They work closely with conservation organizations and government bodies to protect habitats and species across Britain and abroad.
Welsh provision
Generous scholarships and bursaries are available from Academi Hywel Teifi, Swansea University and the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol for students wishing to study through the medium of Welsh or bilingual.

Government funding is now available for students from England, Wales and the EU which embark on postgraduate research programs at Swansea University.
