Cambridge CELTA Full-Time

The Cambridge CELTA qualification is a practical teaching experience that explores various techniques to motivate and encourage learners. It covers the fundamental principles of teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL) and includes observing qualified teachers in a classroom setting.

Course Overview

The aim of the CELTA qualification is to provide practical teaching experience and explore techniques to help motivate and encourage learners. Upon successful completion, candidates are eligible to work anywhere in the world.

Full-Time 5-Week Intensive CELTA Course

• Start Dates and Duration: 29th June - 31st July 2026 (5 weeks), Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm
• Entry Requirements:
  • Age 18 or over
  • Qualifications that enable access to higher education
  • English Language requirement: minimum 7.5 IELTS (or equivalent)/High C1 or C2
• Programme Fee: £1650
• Note: A non-refundable deposit of £179 is payable to secure a place. Courses with fewer than 6 candidates may not run.

Teaching and Assessment

• Teaching practice: 6 assessed hours with adult learners at two levels
• Feedback from teaching practice
• Teaching observation: 6 hours
• Wednesdays for planning and preparation
• Written assignments: 4, each between 750 and 1000 words
• Input sessions: teaching skills, grammar, using audio, games for language learning, classroom management, etc.

Success Criteria

• Full attendance of input sessions
• Achieving or exceeding the criteria in both practical and written components
• Ability to work as a team and to give and receive constructive criticism
• Ability to work under pressure
• A commitment to attending and completing all components of the course
