Overview of the course

The degree apprenticeship in Aeronautical and Manufacturing Engineering is a broad curriculum that deals with aspects of mechanical engineering and aeronautics, engineering design, materials, manufacturing methods, aerodynamics, numerical analysis and modeling as well as basic essentials of mathematics, engineering principles and design methodologies.

Entry Requirements

  • ** Year 1 **:
    • BBB A level grades, including Maths and Physics
    • There is no requirement for the third A level but one of Chemistry, Design, IT/Computing, Further Mathematics and/or Business/Economics is an ideal or relevant BTEC qualification with DDD*degrees with merit in the Further Mathematics module
  • ** Year 2 **:
    • Students with relevant HNC qualifications (120 credits) with high degrees in their HNC modules may join the FD/Beng program in Year 2
  • ** Year 3 **:
    • A Foundation Degree will be given detailed consideration with very similar modules on a case -by -case basis by academic staff at Swansea University and Coleg Cambria

ENGLISH EXPERIENCE

  • Learners must be employed for at least 30 hours per week (in a related field)
  • The employer will have to agree to the learner to register on the course and agree to be released once a week
  • The employer will also have to provide support for mentoring / workplace supervision to improve direct learning
  • The learner will have to work 51% of the time in Wales to qualify for program funding support

Tuition Fees and Finance

  • ** Foundation Degree **: £ 7500 per year for 2 years of study
  • ** BERG degree apprenticeship **: £ 9000 per year for 3 years
  • Higher Education Funding Council for Wales (HEFCW) will provide the Finance Support (for eligible students in the UK/EU)
