Program Overview
Information Systems (M.Sc.)
The Master's program in Information Systems offers advanced knowledge and qualifications necessary for planning, designing, and developing business information processing. The program combines studies in business administration, business informatics, and computer science.
Program Structure
The program consists of a compulsory section, fundamentals in computer science, and tracks. The compulsory section includes a module in business informatics and a project seminar. The fundamentals in computer science provide in-depth insights into specific areas, such as artificial intelligence, data science, and programming.
Tracks
The program offers four tracks for specialization:
- Enterprise Systems: Focuses on the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise software and business processes.
- Business Analytics: Covers methods and techniques for data-driven decision-making in businesses.
- Electronic Business: Provides a comprehensive education in the strategic and practical aspects of digital business.
- Artificial Intelligence: Offers advanced knowledge and skills necessary for applying AI technologies effectively in various business areas.

Seminar and Master Thesis
A seminar is required to prepare for the master's thesis, which can be written from the second semester onwards. The master's thesis is written in the final stages of the program and has a scope of 30 ECTS.
Admission Requirements
For admission to the Master's program in Information Systems, applicants need:
- 20 ECTS from the methods area (mathematics, statistics, econometrics, and applied data-oriented methods)
- 60 ECTS in business administration (including at least 30 ECTS in business informatics/computer science)
Mobility
An optional semester abroad offers the opportunity to gain international study experience, learn about other cultures, and broaden personal horizons. Partnerships with numerous universities in Europe and beyond provide a wide range of options.
