Program Overview


Introduction to the Kinderuni Program

The Kinderuni program is a unique initiative that offers children between the ages of 6 and 13 the opportunity to experience exciting lectures from real scientists. The program has been in operation since 2004 and has become a beloved institution in WŁrzburg.


Program Details

Age Recommendation

The lectures are suitable for children between 6 and 13 years old. For older children, there are alternative programs available, such as the SchŁler-Uni.


Schedule and Venue

All lectures are held every Saturday, with two sessions available: one at 10:00 AM and a repeat session at 10:45 AM. The venue for the lectures is the HŲrsaal 216 (Audimax) at the Neue Universitšt, Sanderring 2.


Important Documents

At the beginning of each lecture series, children receive a lecture book and a student ID card. It is essential to bring both to every lecture.


Parking and Breakfast

Parking is available in the university's underground garage on Saturdays until 1:00 PM. The Studierendenwerk WŁrzburg offers a rich breakfast buffet for purchase in the Lichthof of the Neue Universitšt.


Ticket Reservation and Distribution

Tickets can be reserved in advance, and children will receive their ticket on the day of the lecture, along with a stamp in their lecture book.


Diplomas and Awards

  • Children who attend three lectures in a series will receive a diploma.
    • To receive a diploma, children must have three stamps in their lecture book.
  • Children who collect three individual diplomas will be awarded a special Golden Diploma.
  • The diploma ceremony takes place during the last lecture of the series.

SchŁleruni Program

The SchŁleruni program is designed for 8th to 10th-grade students from schools in WŁrzburg and surrounding areas. Professors from the Julius-Maximilians-Universitšt WŁrzburg give lectures on exciting topics from their research fields.


Support for the Kinderuni

The Kinderuni program is free to attend, but donations are welcome to support the organization and implementation of the program. Donations can be made directly via the donation boxes available at each lecture or by bank transfer.
