Modular Training Course

The University of Ljubljana offers a modular training course in cooperation with the Doctoral School and the Knowledge Transfer Office. This course covers innovation, impact, entrepreneurship, and intellectual property.

Training Modules

The course consists of four modules:


Module 1: Benefits of Engaging with the External Environment

This module takes place on January 22nd, 2024, at 15:00, at Center Rog, UL classroom, and covers topics such as:


  • Collaboration with the environment and career: transfer of knowledge and habilitation criteria of UL
  • Similarities and differences between entrepreneurs and researchers
  • Entrepreneurship as a means for greater impact on the environment
  • Good practices from UL

Module 2: Market Orientation and Social Impact

This module takes place on January 29th, 2024, at 15:00, online, and on January 30th, 2024, at 15:00, at Center Rog, UL classroom, and covers topics such as:


  • Writing science for the audience
  • Market potential and orientation of research
  • Understanding market needs

Module 3: Entrepreneurship, Entrepreneurial Mindset, and Related Skills

This module takes place on February 5th, 2024, at 15:00, at Center Rog, UL classroom, on February 12th, 2024, at 15:00, at Center Rog, UL classroom, and on February 20th, 2024, at 15:00, online, and covers topics such as:


  • Leadership skills and business models
  • Entrepreneurship in practice
  • Preparing a good presentation (pitch)

Module 4: Intellectual Property and Its Relationship to Publishing Articles and Open Science

  • ABC of intellectual property (patents, models, trademarks)
