Program Details

The program in question is the PIK-, which is a part of the Faculty of Arts Education Centre (FAEC) at the University of Ljubljana.


Purpose of the Program

The purpose of the PIK- program is to provide education for teachers who intend to work or are already working in school libraries, including libraries of primary, secondary, and vocational schools, music schools, institutions for youth training, and student dormitories.


Objectives of the Program

The objective of the PIK- program is to familiarize participants with the work in libraries and the basic working processes in school libraries. However, the program does not qualify participants to teach the subject of Information Literacy, for which a second-cycle degree in librarianship is required by law.


Admission Requirements

To enroll in the PIK- program, one must have a degree obtained through a second-cycle study program or a degree obtained through a study program that yields an education equivalent to a second-cycle degree, as defined by law. The applicant must also meet the legal requirements regarding the level and field of education for teachers or counseling workers in education. Participants who have completed their education abroad can enroll under the same conditions.
