Overview

The master's degree program in Kinesiology is designed to educate exercise professionals for planning, implementation, and supervision of physical activity and exercise programs for adults with certain chronic non-communicable diseases and people with acute and/or chronic locomotor injuries after rehabilitation process is finished.

About the Program

The program originated from the needs of connecting sports and medical skills in the field of training of adult persons, which may have above-mentioned health issues. The proportion of persons with certain medical conditions is increasing with advanced age, so the special care in the program is intended for the elderly population.


Objectives

Students will learn about the basic bio-psycho-social characteristics of these groups of people, especially those that are important in terms of their physical exercise. They will develop the ability for team work and good communication in a professional team, learn about health risks associated with exercise, learn the appropriate screening for exercise, and know possible contraindications for exercise. They will be able to plan, organize, implement, and supervise training and exercise programs for adults, older people, and all people with certain chronic diseases and people with acute and/or chronic injuries.
