Course Execution

The course is part of several undergraduate programs, including Communication studies, Cultural studies, Defence Studies, International Relations, Journalism, Media and Communication Studies, Political Science, Social Informatics, and Sociology.

Objectives and Competences

The course aims to provide students with an understanding of modern complex crises and the ability to apply analytical instruments for crisis exploration and management.


Content (Syllabus Outline)

The course covers topics such as the definition of security crisis, crisis management, and contemporary security surroundings, as well as selected cases of security-political crises and national crisis management systems.


Intended Learning Outcomes

Upon completing the course, students should be able to define, classify, identify, describe, distinguish, compare, report, apply, and analyze concepts related to crisis management and contemporary security.


Learning and Teaching Methods

The course includes lectures, seminars, video material analysis, and guest lectures with practical experience in the field.


Assessment

The assessment consists of a paper and its presentation (40%) and a written exam (60%).
