Program Overview

- The program is designed to equip students with a deep understanding of cognitive science, including its fundamental disciplines such as neuroscience, artificial intelligence, biology, linguistics, anthropology, philosophy, and psychology.
Admission Requirements
- Applicants must have completed a first-cycle study program of at least 180 ECTS or an equivalent study program acquired under previous regulations in Slovenia or abroad.
- In cases where admission is limited, candidates are selected based on their performance on an entrance exam (50%) and their average grade from their first-cycle or undergraduate study program (50%).
Entrance Exam
- The exam consists of two essay questions related to the exam literature.
- Candidates choose one question to answer within 90 minutes.
- The exam evaluates the candidate's ability to argue, understand, and connect concepts, as well as their linguistic expression.

- Ability to present experimental results, argue clearly, and engage in professional discussions according to scientific standards.

- Ability to evaluate interdisciplinary scientific literature and literature from all constituent fields.

- Subject-Specific Competences:
- Knowledge and understanding of the basic concepts, theories, and development of the fundamental disciplines of cognitive science.

- Understanding and application of the terminology of the fundamental disciplines of cognitive science.
- Knowledge and understanding of the basic concepts, theories, and development of cognitive science as an independent discipline.
- Understanding and critical approach to ethical and social issues related to research in the fields of the fundamental disciplines of cognitive science.
Recognition of Prior Knowledge and Skills
- The program recognizes prior knowledge and skills acquired through formal, non-formal, or experiential learning.
- Recognition is based on certificates and other documents, evaluation of products and services, and assessment of knowledge acquired through self-study or experiential learning.
Progression and Completion Requirements
- Progression to the 2nd Year: Requires completion of 50 ECTS from the first year.
- Completion of the Program: Requires completion of all obligations as defined by the study program and the curriculum, totaling 120 ECTS, including the successful defense of a master's thesis.

- The grading system ranges from 5 (negative) to 10 (positive), with 10 being excellent, 9 very good, 8 good, 7 satisfactory, and 6 sufficient.
- The Bolonja grading system (A-F) is used for international programs, with A equivalent to 10, B to 9, C to 8, D to 7, E to 6, and F to 5.
