Bachelor of Information Technology (Software Development)

The Bachelor of Information Technology (Software Development) is a three-year full-time or six-year part-time course that prepares students for high-impact roles in the tech industry. The course is co-designed with industry and focuses on practical experience, agile development, and DevOps practices.

  • Core units: 108 credit points
  • A Major: 72 credit points
  • QUT You: 24 credit points
  • Complementary studies: 84 credit points

Admission Requirements

  • ATAR/selection rank threshold: 70.00
  • Assumed knowledge: English, or Literature, or English and Literature Extension, or English as an Additional Language (Units 3 & 4, C), and General Mathematics, or Mathematical Methods, or Specialist Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C)
  • Year 12 early offer scheme: Eligible for current Queensland Year 12 students
  • Guaranteed advanced standing: Available through QUT College Diplomas

Fees

  • 2026 fees: CSP $9,600 per year full-time (96 credit points) for domestic students, and $44,800 per year full-time (96 credit points) for international students
  • Student services and amenities fees: Additional fees may apply
