Bachelor of Built Environment (Honours) (Interior Design)
The Bachelor of Built Environment (Honours) (Interior Design) is a four-year full-time or eight-year part-time course that provides students with the knowledge and skills to enhance the quality of life and experience of occupants through design.
Course Overview
This course is designed to produce graduates who are skilled in the design of interior environments, with a strong focus on the user experience, sustainability, and social responsibility. Students will learn about design process, theory, and technology, including 2D and 3D digital drafting, and will have the opportunity to work on real-world projects with industry partners.
Career Outcomes
Graduates of this course may work as interior designers, set designers, space planners, or spatial designers, and may find employment in a variety of fields, including residential and commercial design, theatre and event design, and exhibition design.
Admission Requirements
To be eligible for admission to this course, students must have a minimum ATAR/selection rank of 70.00. Students who have completed a certificate IV, diploma, or higher qualification may also be eligible for admission.
Course Structure
The course consists of 384 credit points, including 192 credit points of core units, 96 credit points of discipline units, and 96 credit points of elective units. Students will also complete a 15-day (100-hour) work placement as part of their Work Integrated Learning core unit.
Tuition Fees
The tuition fees for this course are $43,300 per year full-time (96 credit points) for international students, and $10,400 per year full-time (96 credit points) for Commonwealth-supported students.
