Bachelor of Human Services/Bachelor of Justice

The Bachelor of Human Services/Bachelor of Justice is a double degree program that combines the study of human services and justice. This program prepares students to work in areas that respond to the increasing community emphasis on crime, justice, human wellbeing, and related practice.

Course Structure

  • Students must complete a total of 384 credit points consisting of three components:
    • Human Services component: 192 credit points
      • 192 credit points of core units including a Social Justice placement unit
    • Justice component: 180 credit points
      • Justice core units: 7 x 12 credit point units = 84cp
      • Study Area A: 8 x 12 credit point units = 96cp (Select Criminology and Violence Prevention or Investigations and Intelligence or Policy, Politics and Social Reform)
    • QUT You component: 12 credit points

Admission Requirements

  • ATAR/selection rank threshold: 70.00
  • Assumed knowledge: English, or Literature, or English and Literature Extension, or English as an Additional Language (Units 3 & 4, C)
  • Year 12 early offer scheme: Eligible for students who achieve an ATAR/selection rank of 70.00 or higher
  • VET guarantee: Eligible for students who have completed an AQF certificate IV, diploma or higher
  • Advanced standing: Available for students with prior studies or work experience
  • Deferment: Available for one year
