Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Honours)

The Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Honours) is designed to provide a strong and practical foundation for research and professional employment in biomedical sciences.

Course Overview

This honours program is a one-year full-time course that provides students with the opportunity to develop advanced knowledge, problem-solving, and research skills in biomedical sciences. Students will work with an experienced researcher to complete a research project in their field of study.

Delivery and Duration

The course is delivered at the Kelvin Grove campus and has a duration of 12 months full-time or 1 year full-time.

Course Structure

The course consists of two 12 credit point units covering advanced discipline readings and readings in biomedical science, two 12 credit point units covering research strategies, and a 48 credit point research project.

Entry Requirements

A completed recognised bachelor degree in biomedical science or in the relevant disciplines of agriculture science, engineering, health, information technology, mathematics, science, or veterinary science with a minimum grade point average of 5.00 (on QUT's 7-point scale), completed within the last 2 years.

Fees

The tuition fees for this course vary depending on the student's residency status. For Australian and New Zealand students, the fee is $9,500 per year full-time (96 credit points) for 2026. For international students, the fee is $64,400 per year full-time (96 credit points) for 2026.
