Graduate Diploma in Cardiac Ultrasound

The Graduate Diploma in Cardiac Ultrasound is a postgraduate program designed for practicing cardiac sonographers. This course aims to develop students' knowledge and skills in cardiac ultrasound, using a combination of on-campus blocks, web-based modules, and clinical practice modules.

  • The program is delivered online, with on-campus blocks in semesters 1 and 3, each lasting 2 days.
  • The course duration is 2 years part-time.
  • The program starts in February.
  • This program is not available to Australian government student visa holders.

Entry Requirements

  • A recognized bachelor degree (or equivalent) in a relevant science or allied health field.
  • A minimum of 3 months full-time equivalent supervised hands-on clinical experience in cardiac ultrasound.
  • Additional entry requirements include providing a completed Clinical supervisor form with the online application.
  • Overseas qualifications are considered for admissions purposes, with requirements for English language proficiency.

English Language Proficiency

  • IELTS (Academic): 7.0 or better overall with no subscore below 6.5.
  • PTE: 65 or better overall with no subscore below 58.
  • TOEFL (IBT): 98 or better overall with a writing subscore of 24 or better, and no other subscore lower than 20.
  • Cambridge English Score: 185 or better overall with no subscore below 176.

Fees

  • The actual fees may vary depending on the units chosen.
  • 2026 fees: $15,600 per year part-time (48 credit points) for Australian and New Zealand students, and $21,100 per year part-time (48 credit points) for international students.
