Program Overview


Introduction to the Faculty of Social Sciences

The Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University aims to develop pedagogical and research activities and expand professional training in key social science fields. The faculty focuses on professional preparation in economics, communication studies, territorial studies, political science, and sociology.

Mobility Programs

The faculty participates in mobility programs, such as Erasmus+, which supports student mobility for studies and staff mobility for teaching and training. The program allows students to spend 2-12 months at a partner university abroad.


Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (E+ICM)

E+ICM is a program that supports student mobility for studies and staff mobility for teaching and training with partner countries that do not participate in the standard Erasmus+ program. The program is based on successfully approved cooperation projects with selected universities.


Academic Year 2026/2027

The selection process for the winter semester 2026/2027 is ongoing at the institutes. Students can apply for mobility programs, and the faculty provides financial support to successful applicants.


Financial Support

The financial support consists of a contribution to accommodation costs and a unit contribution to travel expenses, which is graded according to the distance between the home institution and the host institution abroad.


Nomination Process

The nomination process involves the following steps:


  1. Students submit their applications to the respective institute.
  2. The institute selects the candidates and sends the necessary documents to the Foreign Relations Department (OZS).
  3. OZS nominates the students to the partner university.
  4. The partner university confirms the nomination, and OZS requires additional documents from the student.

Course of Mobility

The course of mobility involves the following steps:


  1. Before departure: Students sign the Grant Agreement and receive financial support.
  2. During the mobility: Students must have any changes to their study plan approved by their study guarantor.
  3. After the mobility: Students must submit a Confirmation of Erasmus+ Study Period and a Transcript of Records to OZS and the European Office of the Rectorate (EK RUK).
