Technology & Engineering Studies (BS): Technical Emphasis

Program Information

The Technology & Engineering Studies (BS): Technical Emphasis program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in technology and engineering studies. The program requires a minimum of 75 credit hours and a maximum of 76 credit hours.

Learning Outcomes

The program has four learning outcomes:

1. Technical Competency: Students will demonstrate technical competency in technology and engineering studies.
2. Creative Design and Problem-Solving: Students will demonstrate creative design, entrepreneurial, innovative problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
3. Effective Communication: Students will demonstrate effective communication skills.
4. Lifelong Learning: Students will demonstrate lifelong learning skills.

Program Requirements

The program has four requirements:

1. Requirement 1: Complete three requirements:
   • Requirement 1.1: Complete one of two courses:
     • CCE 112: Engr Draft w/CAD Apps (2.0 credits)
     • CFM 105: Fundamentals of CFM (3.0 credits)
   • Requirement 1.2: Complete one of two courses:
     • MATH 110: College Algebra (3.0 credits)
     • MATH 111: Trigonometry (2.0 credits)
   • Requirement 1.3: Complete 12 courses:
     • TES 112: Innovation (1.0 credit)
     • TES 125: Comm. Tech & Systems (3.0 credits)
     • TES 200: Processes Prototyping Wood (3.0 credits)
     • TES 210: Coding for Tech & Engr Educat (3.0 credits)
     • TES 225: Electronics for T & E Teachers (3.0 credits)
     • TES 229: Process & Mfg: Metals/Polymers (3.0 credits)
     • TES 255: Visual Communication Design (3.0 credits)
     • TES 276: Exploration of Teaching A (3.5 credits)
     • TES 276B: Exploration of Teaching B (0.5 credits)

2. Requirement 2: Complete six registrations of the following course (except if enrolled in TES 476):

3. Requirement 3: Complete 34 hours of technical electives. Some examples of technical electives include:
