Program Overview

The program in question is the Tverrfaglig teamarbeid i krisepsykologi (Interdisciplinary Teamwork in Crisis Psychology), which is a part-time study program over one semester. It is one of three mandatory subjects in the Erfaringsbasert master i krisepsykologi (Experience-Based Master's in Crisis Psychology).

Introduction

This subject aims to provide students with the opportunity to train and develop their collaboration skills in interdisciplinary teams. It targets health personnel and others working with children, adolescents, and adults who need crisis psychological interventions.


Program Content

The subject will develop an understanding of the challenges in interdisciplinary crisis psychological teamwork, such as planning, early intervention, organization, and implementation of psychosocial measures for crisis-affected individuals and response personnel. Upon completion, students should be able to assess and optimize crisis psychological measures aimed at individuals, groups, and/or local communities.


Program Structure

  • The program is part-time over one semester.
  • It includes two physical gatherings at the University of Bergen, each lasting three days, and two digital day gatherings.
  • Participation in at least 80% of the teaching is mandatory.

Examination

The examination consists of a written process report describing the collaboration in the student's group and a joint, oral group examination where the group presents the problem, methods used, and results. Each part counts for 50% of the final grade.


Admission Requirements

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree, cand.mag. degree, or another equivalent degree or basic education with a scope of at least three years/180 study points.
  • Work Experience: Minimum two years of relevant work experience from areas such as health, education, or social services.
  • Special Considerations: Extensive and relevant work experience beyond the minimum requirement of two years can, after individual assessment, replace up to one year of the educational requirement (60 study points).

Tuition and Fees

  • Tuition Fee: kr 22,000, which covers all costs for teaching and examination. Additional costs for literature may apply.
  • Semester Fee: kr 650, a statutory, personal semester fee that goes to Sammen Studentsamskipnaden pĺ Vestlandet to cover common welfare benefits and services for all students.
