The Professional Training Year Module is designed to support students' development of personal and professional attitudes and abilities appropriate to a Professional Training placement. This module facilitates self-reflection and the transfer of learning from placement experiences to the final year of study and future employment.

Module Content
The module focuses on achieving learning outcomes by offering students the opportunity to nurture employability skills and develop professional identity, competencies, and attributes that support future employability outcomes. This development takes place across a wide range of learning environments.

Assessment Strategy
The assessment strategy is designed to provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate learning outcomes regarding the successful acquisition of a Professional Training placement and the acquisition of employability skills and competencies.
Module Aims
- Enable students to acquire and develop knowledge as it occurs in professional practice.
- Apply academic knowledge from the learning experience at a partner institution.
- Enable students to mature through the evaluation of their placement experiences.
- Support students to develop and apply new skills appropriate to the academic setting.
- Enable students to develop employability skills and attitudes/approach required of a person working in a professional capacity.
