Program Scope

The program is designed for nursing students, providing them with a clinical immersion experience. Key aspects of the program include:

• Nursing students will be paired with pediatric nurses during their clinical immersion experience.
• The program includes opportunities to provide direct patient care, participate in patient and family-centered care, practice clinical skills, and improve comfort and confidence as nursing students prepare for their future careers as licensed registered nurses.

Program Schedule

The program schedule is as follows:

• The program runs from December 12, 2022, to January 21, 2023, and will be conducted at Children's National Hospital in Washington, D.C.
• If selected, nursing students will have the option to select start and end dates based on their availability during their winter break.
• Nursing students will work up to three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week) following their assigned nurse's schedule. Shifts will include weekdays, weekends, day and night shifts, but no holidays.
