Introduction to the Master's Programme in Surveying and Planning
The Master's programme in Surveying and Planning is a 2-year, research-based, full-time study programme offered by Aalborg University. Programme Structure and Contents

Specialisation in Surveying and Mapping
The specialisation in Surveying and Mapping focuses on the collection, processing, and integration of spatial data. Students will gain knowledge of technologies and theories/methods for collecting spatial data, processing/integrating spatial data, and assessing the quality of spatial data.
Specialisation in Land Management
The specialisation in Land Management focuses on land management based on research and practices concerning development and regulation of property and land use, spatial development and planning, land economics, and land governance. Students will gain knowledge of spatial planning and governance, legal issues concerning real property, and legal and economic issues concerning public intervention in the property market.
Admission Requirements
Applicants with a Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Planning and Land Management, Geography, or a related field are entitled to admission. Applicants without a legal claim to admission may be admitted after a specific academic assessment if the applicant is deemed to have comparable educational prerequisites.
Programme Specifications
The programme is a 2-year, full-time study programme set to 120 ECTS credits. The programme is offered in Aalborg, and the language of instruction is English.
Competence Profile
The graduate of the Master's programme will have a competence profile that includes knowledge, skills, and competencies in surveying and planning. The graduate will be able to apply scientific theory and method on an independent basis within both an academic and a professional context.
Rules Concerning Credit Transfer
The Study Board can approve successfully completed programme elements from other Master's programmes in lieu of programme elements in this programme. The Study Board can also approve successfully completed programme elements from another Danish programme or a programme outside of Denmark at the same level in lieu of programme elements within this curriculum.
Exemptions
In exceptional circumstances, the Study Board can grant exemption from those parts of the curriculum that are not stipulated by law or ministerial order.
