Physical Computing I
Module Description, Progression, and Pedagogy
In this module, students learn about the fundamental principles of electronics and programming, as well as how various electronic sensors and actuators can be connected to a micro-controller to create different forms of human-machine interaction.
Subjects
In connection with the module, subjects may be offered within the following areas:

Learning Objectives
Knowledge
In this module, students should acquire basic knowledge of:
- fundamental electronics, i.e., resistors, diodes, and transistors
- sensor possibilities, i.e., binary (buttons) and continuous (analog) sensors
- related work in sensor technology and media art
Skills
In this module, students should acquire skills in:
- developing and applying a physical interface using specific sensors and actuators
- analyzing the use of the artifact
- summarizing knowledge in written documentation
Competences
In this module, students should acquire competences in:
- evaluating an artifact in relation to basic electronics, sensors, and actuators

Working method: Individually or in small groups
Examination
Exams

The exam is a bounded assignment of seven days duration. Scope: The written part must not exceed 5 pages.
