Module Description, Progress, and Pedagogy

The purpose of this module is to strengthen the student's competencies within the development of advanced multimedia applications. The module requires a good prior knowledge of programming and aims to strengthen the student's competencies within the development of software and physical systems through more complex algorithms and programming techniques.

Knowledge

In this module, the student should acquire basic knowledge of:


  • Advanced topics within software development and algorithms relevant to the design and implementation of multimedia software (e.g., software design patterns, programming of mobile devices, robots and robot movement, network programming, and machine learning).

Skills

Skills in:


  • Applying a range of programming techniques and methods at a medium to high level in connection with the development of effective multimedia applications
  • Applying advanced programming techniques in combination with artistic theories and perception theories.

Competencies

Competencies in:


  • Analyzing multimedia technical problems and selecting, applying, and evaluating relevant technologies in connection with the development of effective solutions
  • Applying quantitative analysis to evaluate multimedia solutions
  • Applying advanced concepts within multimedia programming and software development.

Exam form | Active participation/ongoing evaluation
Active participation in the module's lecture series and other subject-related activities is required. Active participation assumes that the student reads the mandatory literature, participates in 80% of the module's lectures and other subject-related activities, contributes to the module's discussions through presentations, and actively participates in discussions and hands in all assignments.
If a student does not meet the requirements for active participation, the following re-examination is held:
Internal written examination in the module "Multimedieprogrammering"
Exam form: c)
Submission: individual
The exam is a bounded task of seven days duration. The task is assessed by one examiner.
In case the task is not passed, it will also be assessed by a co-examiner.
Extent: the written work must not exceed 10 pages.
