Introduction to the Master's Program in Operations and Innovation Management
The Master's program in Operations and Innovation Management is a 2-year, research-based, full-time study program offered by Aalborg University. The program is designed to provide students with international-level knowledge and skills in the field of operations and innovation management, with a focus on management engineering perspectives.
Program Structure and Contents
The program is structured in modules and organized as a problem-based study. Each semester has an overall theme that serves as a focal point in both modules and project work. Admission Requirements
Applicants with a Bachelor's degree in relevant fields, such as manufacturing and operations engineering, global business engineering, or export technology, are eligible for admission. Students with other Bachelor's degrees may be admitted after a specific academic assessment.
Competence Profile
The graduate of the Master's program in Operations and Innovation Management will have:
- International-level knowledge in the field of operations and innovation management
- The ability to reflect on the technological, organizational, managerial, industrial, and competitive aspects of operations and innovation management problems and solutions
- Skills in working systematically, analytically, and solution design-oriented
- The ability to evaluate, select, and apply scientifically-based management engineering knowledge, methods, and tools
- The ability to communicate research-based knowledge, methods, and tools and discuss professional and scientific problems and solutions with both peers and non-specialists
Language Requirements
The program is taught in English, and students are expected to have a good command of the language. The Master's Thesis must include an English summary, and if the project is written in English, the summary can be in Danish.
Examination and Evaluation
The rules for examinations are stated in the Examination Policies and Procedures published on the university's website. The program uses a 7-point grading scale, and all modules are assessed through individual grading.

All students who have not participated in Aalborg University's PBL introductory course during their Bachelor's degree must attend the introductory course "Problem-based Learning and Project Management."
