Program Overview


Applied Business Statistics Module

Introduction

The Applied Business Statistics module introduces students to different types of data relevant to business economists. It enables students to read, understand, process, and present statistical data at a basic level, as well as critically relate to statistics relevant to business economists.


Content, Progress, and Pedagogy

The module covers basic statistical concepts and methods for presenting different variables and the relationship between two variables.


Learning Objectives

  • Knowledge: Students will possess knowledge of different data types and sources, methods for processing and presenting variables, and techniques for presenting and interpreting the relationship between two variables.
  • Skills: Students will develop skills in critically evaluating data sources, making simple statistical calculations using Python, and presenting data visually.
  • Competences: Students will be able to apply descriptive statistics as an analytical tool for business issues, carry out data processing in a business context, and critically evaluate the meaning of basic descriptive statistics.
