Program Details

The Graduate Certificate in Health Information Privacy and Security program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to protect healthcare systems from cyber threats. The program covers topics such as data networks, risk management, disaster recovery, and management of electronic health records. Upon completion of the program, students will be able to develop a strong understanding of the information technology supporting patient care and healthcare organizations, demonstrate awareness of current and emerging U.S. and international privacy laws and regulations, explain and apply fundamental network management concepts and security practices of health information, and identify and articulate the compliance requirements necessary to ensure the privacy and security of health data.
