Program Overview
MPH Professional Option
The MPH professional option provides an opportunity for U.S. physicians with earned doctorates and those who are in a U.S. residency program.
Admissions
Admissions are not being accepted for this degree at this time. However, the option is available to:
- those currently enrolled in a U.S. physician residency-training program, or
- those who are in the process of completing a doctoral-level, health-related degree and who have at least one year of health-related experience.
Program Requirements
The option requires completion of the 28 hours of core courses including the internship and eight hours of general electives (36 hours total).

The following core courses are required:
- MPH 503: Biostatistics for the Health Professional (4 hours)
- MPH 506: Community Health Research (4 hours)
- MPH 511: Foundations Of Epidemiology (4 hours)
- MPH 521: Environmental and Occupational Health (4 hours)
- MPH 531: Public Health Policy and Administration (4 hours)
- MPH 561: Community Health Education (4 hours)
- MPH 581: Internship (4 hours)
