Program Details

Practical Training Program

The Practical Training Program is a paid program aimed at third-year, fourth-year, or final-year students. The selection of students for the available positions is based on their grades in three specific courses. For third-year students, the courses are Introduction to Educational Sciences I, Introduction to Educational Sciences II, and the Practical Training course of the second year (906). For fourth-year students, the courses are related to the Practical Training (906, 901, and 902).

Program Structure

  • The Practical Training is offered as an elective course with the code 82907 and is graded on a scale of 0-10.
  • The program corresponds to 8 ECTS (decision of the 7th/16-1-2020 Assembly).
  • The grade and corresponding ECTS are noted in the appendix of the student's diploma and are not included in the overall grade or the total number of credits required for graduation.
  • After completing the Practical Training, the Scientific Responsible evaluates the student's performance based on a written assignment (folder of records and self-assessment/reflection) and the Trainee's Performance Report from the Employment Agency.

Participation and Placement

  • Selected students undertake the obligation to work for 60 days (160 hours) in the agency where they are placed.
  • The program of their employment is formed considering the needs of the agency and their other obligations at the university.
  • Students express their interest in participating in the program by responding to an announcement posted on the department's website and e-class at the end of each winter semester.

Placement Options

  • Students are placed in private and public agencies of formal and non-formal education (schools, museums, NGOs, etc.).
  • Besides the suggested agencies, students can choose an employment agency provided it aligns with their field of study.

Evaluation and Follow-Up

  • During or after the completion of the Practical Training, students discuss their experiences in supervision meetings with the scientific responsible.
  • The department manages approximately 150-200 Practical Training positions each year.

Internal Regulation

  • The department has an internal regulation for the ESF Practical Training program.
  • Announcements regarding the Practical Training are made available.
