Introduction to the Open University Program " , "
The Open University Program " , " (Paths in History, Archaeology, and the History of Art) is an academic program offered by the Department of History and Archaeology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. The program aims to bring the department into contact with the broader public.
Program Description
The program consists of three cycles of lectures, each focusing on a different aspect of history, archaeology, and the history of art. The first cycle examines the phenomenon of decolonization and its impact on the Greek experience in the 20th century. The second cycle explores the history of the Mediterranean region, including the rise and fall of colonial empires and the role of art in this context. The third cycle delves into the history of Cyprus, from the arrival of the British in 1878 to the present day.

Program Details
- Location: Historic Archive of the University of Athens, Skoufa 45
- Time: Mondays and Wednesdays, from November 4 to December 11, 2019, 18:00-21:00
- Tuition Fees: 60 for one cycle, 110 for two cycles, 150 for three cycles
- Certificate: A certificate of attendance will be awarded to participants
Application and Admission
Interested individuals can submit their application electronically by October 28, 2019. After receiving confirmation of their application, they must pay the tuition fees within five working days and send the receipt to the program's administrators.
